Wrentham Voters Face School Project Decision

WRENTHAM – Wrentham voters will head to the polls on June 15 for a Special Election focused on the proposed Roderick School Building Project Debt Exclusion.

The project would fund the planning, design, construction, and equipping of a new elementary school. School officials say the current Roderick School, built in 1968, requires extensive upgrades, including a new roof, HVAC system, windows, doors, and plumbing. They also note that renovation costs are increased by the presence of asbestos, PCBs, and other hazardous materials common in older buildings.

Officials estimate that roughly half of the project’s $56 million cost would be reimbursed by the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
