MENDON – Two women charged with animal cruelty in several Massachusetts communities will not serve prison time for now.
Mother and daughter Elizabeth and Julia Bonner were charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty. The Mendon Commons reports they were sentenced to 18 months in prison, but that sentence was suspended with probation as long as they follow several conditions.
Some charges connected to cases in Stoughton and Dudley were dismissed, while the two allegedly still face charges in Attleboro. Earlier this month, Julia Bonner was also found guilty of assaulting two animal control officers at the Blackstone Valley Regional Animal Shelter.
