Franklin Panther two‑way star Roman Caccavelli has elevated his profile this summer with standout performances in top‑tier tournaments. At the PG New England World Series, he batted a remarkable .500, collecting a double, drawing two walks, driving in two runs, and swiping three stolen bases. Yet that offensive output was only half of his showcase, Roman also took the mound and delivered seven innings of one‑run, three‑hit ball with four strikeouts, proving his dual-threat value.

Roman’s club team, the MWS Devils, has benefited from his all‑star approach. Over the Fourth of July series, he hit .375 with an OBP of .444, homering once and adding five RBIs. His ability to impact the game in multiple facets, power, patience, speed, and pitching, makes him an interesting cog for Franklin’s future.

Joining Roman with the Devils is fellow Panther Owen Pennini, who was named Player of the Game in a 13–2 win over USA Prime NE Premier at the Northeast Summer Championship. Pennini went 3‑for‑3, slugging two doubles, a triple, scoring three runs, and driving in three RBIs, underscoring Franklin’s depth of talent on the summer circuit.

With Jack Sullivan and other veterans returning to Franklin next spring, the Panthers boast a talented nucleus eager to translate summer success into high‑school dominance. Last year’s Elite 8 finish provided a glimpse; with Caccavelli, Pennini, and Sullivan leading the charge, Franklin looks poised for an even deeper D1 playoff run in 2026.
