Franklin Post 75 Rallies Past Hyde Park Behind Kryzak’s Homer, Improve to 9-0

FRANKLIN — Franklin Post 75 used a balanced offensive attack and timely pitching to rally past Hyde Park Post 78, 7-4, Monday night in American Legion Baseball action.

After Hyde Park grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Franklin answered late, scoring two runs in the fourth before breaking the game open with four more in the fifth. The hosts added an insurance run in the sixth and held Hyde Park scoreless over the final two innings to secure the victory.

Sean Kryzak provided the biggest swing of the night, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored. His blast highlighted Franklin’s four-run fifth inning and helped turn a close contest into a three-run advantage.

Franklin’s offense produced nine hits, with Henry George leading the way by going 2-for-3. Jack Sullivan also collected two hits and scored a run, while Andrew Hosford reached base twice and scored once. Owen Miller contributed a hit and an RBI, Patrick Luizzi added an RBI single, Gavin Heneghan scored a run and singled, and Cam Lambert also crossed the plate as every part of the lineup helped fuel the comeback.

On the mound, Brady Short earned the victory with a solid five-inning performance. The right-hander allowed four runs, two earned, on six hits while striking out three and walking two. Colin Mont closed the door over the final two innings, allowing just one hit and no runs to earn the save while striking out one.

Franklin’s aggressive baserunning also played a key role in the win. The team stole four bases, led by Sean Kryzak’s three steals, while Andrew Hosford, Cam Lambert, Henry George, and Jack Sullivan also swiped bags to keep pressure on Hyde Park’s defense throughout the evening.

The victory keeps the perfect season alive for Franklin, now at 9-0 to start the campaign. Showcasing their ability to be a serious contender for the state title.
