MEDWAY – A piece of Medway firefighting history is looking like new again following the restoration of a 62-year-old fire engine.
The Town recently had its 1964 Maxim S Engine 1 restored by Sturgis Restoration, preserving the vintage apparatus for future generations.
The Maxim Motor Company, once headquartered in Middleborough, was a longtime manufacturer of fire apparatus. The company produced more than 3,000 fire engines between 1920 and 1989, including Medway’s 1964 engine.
Following the restoration work, the historic truck once again reflects the appearance of an important piece of Medway Fire Department history.
