FRANKLIN – The Franklin Fire Department has received more than $380,000 in federal funding to expand its specialized rescue and emergency response capabilities.
The FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant includes about $78,000 for specialized rescue equipment, with the remaining funding going toward training.
Fire Chief Chuck Allen says the training will cover areas including confined-space rescue and heavy-vehicle extrication, along with other specialized emergency situations.
