MILFORD – An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect through Saturday night as a dangerous heat dome settles over the region.
The National Weather Service says afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s and could exceed 100 degrees in some locations. Combined with high humidity, heat index values could climb as high as 112 degrees.
Overnight temperatures are expected to provide little relief, with lows only falling into the low 70s.
Officials urge residents to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, check on elderly relatives and neighbors, and never leave children or pets unattended inside vehicles.
