FRANKLIN/MEDWAY – Franklin and Medway have opened several cooling centers to help residents escape the dangerous heat.
In Franklin, the Senior Center is open today from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Franklin Public Library is also serving as a cooling center today until 8 p.m. and Friday until 5 p.m. If the heat lingers into the weekend, New England Chapel will open as a cooling center on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In Medway, the Senior Center is available as a cooling center both today and Friday.
The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Saturday night, with dangerously high temperatures and humidity expected throughout the region.
