Nipmuc Boy’s Lacrosse Tournament Run Ends Against Manchester-Essex in Round of 16

MENDON, MASS. — Nipmuc battled throughout the afternoon but was unable to overcome a strong Manchester-Essex squad, falling 14-8 in the Round of 16 of the MIAA Division 4 Boys Lacrosse Tournament.

The Warriors were within striking distance at halftime, trailing just 7-6 after an entertaining first half that featured plenty of offensive firepower from both teams. Manchester-Essex pulled away after the break, however, outscoring Nipmuc 7-2 in the second half to secure the victory.

Trevor Roadman led the Warriors’ offense with a standout performance, recording three goals and two assists. Cody King added two goals and an assist, while Ryan Johnson and Mason Kirkpatrick each contributed a goal and an assist. Cooper Chaves also found the back of the net, and Ethan Parenteau chipped in with an assist.

Despite the loss, Nipmuc continued to generate scoring opportunities throughout the game against a disciplined Manchester-Essex defense.

In goal, Aidyn Sweeney turned in a strong effort for the Warriors, making 15 saves and keeping Nipmuc competitive against a relentless Manchester-Essex attack. Several of Sweeney’s stops came during key stretches when the Hornets threatened to break the game open.

Nipmuc’s season came to a close with the tournament defeat, but the Warriors showed resilience by staying within a goal at halftime against one of the top teams in Division 4. The program’s postseason appearance highlighted another successful campaign and provided valuable experience for a team that competed until the final whistle.
