MEDWAY — The Medway Police Association is bringing back its annual Medway Police Chase 5K Glow Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run Obstacle Course on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Medway Parks and Recreation.
The event, now in its eighth year, will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Medway Parks and Recreation facility, 123 Holliston Street. The Kids Fun Run begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the 5K at 7 p.m.
The Kids Fun Run is open to children ages 3 to 12 and will feature three giant inflatable obstacle courses inside a glowing, fenced-in field.
The 5K Glow Run and Walk is open to a wide range of ages and will be professionally timed with awards presented to top finishers in several age divisions.
Registration currently costs $17.40 for participants 18 and under, $28 for adults ages 19 to 69, and is free for participants ages 70 and older. The Kids Fun Run also costs $17.40. Prices will increase after 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 25.
Participants who register by Sept. 4 will receive a free race T-shirt. Early bib pickup is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mickey Cassidy’s Restaurant, while race-day pickup begins at 6 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation facility.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for the community. Proceeds support local organizations including Medway High School football and hockey, Medway Youth Baseball, Medway Amateur Basketball, the Medway Lions Club and Medway Boy Scouts, along with other local causes.
