MILLIS – A major fire destroyed a home and spread into nearby woods Monday evening in Millis. The fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. on Birch Street and quickly escalated into a three-alarm fire, drawing response crews from 10 different fire departments.

Officials say the flames damaged the main home, two smaller structures, and several acres of woodland. The Millis Fire Department later had to return to the scene after the fire reignited hours later. Authorities say strong winds and propane tanks on the property fueled the blaze, though fortunately no injuries were reported.
