MENDON – The Town of Mendon is reportedly selling a town-owned home to help fund additional affordable housing on the same property.
The Mendon Commons reports the town plans to sell the house at 75 Providence Street through its affordable housing lottery, with the proceeds going toward the development of additional affordable units nearby. The 59-acre property was purchased using Community Preservation Act funds, and officials say there is enough room to build four affordable homes while preserving some of the property’s open space.
