The No. 7-seeded Uxbridge Spartans met a physical No. 2 Amesbury Redhawks team in a quarterfinal matchup that ultimately swung Amesbury’s way, 34-13. Amesbury opened the scoring and gradually took control, a tight second quarter (22-13) and another six-point stanza in the third effectively put the game out of reach.

Uxbridge fought back at times. Shea Paxton connected on two touchdown passes to Thatcher Sweeney, a 49-yard strike and a 12-yard scoring toss, and the Spartans showed flashes of their big-play identity. Paxton finished with two passing TDs, though Amesbury’s overall firepower proved decisive.

Amesbury’s balanced attack featured a huge night from RB Connor Scialdone, who rushed for two TDs and even returned a kickoff 82 yards for a score. QB Justin Dube also delivered, tossing two touchdowns, including a 90-yard scoring connection to Joe Puleo on a wheel route. Those explosive plays swung field position and momentum repeatedly in Amesbury’s favor.

The Spartans finish their season proud of the effort and growth shown; Amesbury moves on to face Clinton in the semifinals. Uxbridge’s staff will point to the positives and return a core that helped push the program deep into the bracket.
