By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Grafton’s Silver Lake remains closed until at least this Friday due to a blue-green algae bloom. The beach was suddenly closed last Thursday after staff arrived and saw the bloom which can be harmful to people and pets. On Friday a water test came back showing safe levels of algae in the water but the state’s Department of Public Health recommends the Beach Closing Advisory only be lifted after two tests are done at least one week apart. If the test shows safe levels on Friday, then Silver Lake will reopen on Saturday.
