MEDWAY – Celebrate Medway Day has been canceled because of this weekend’s expected weather.
Town officials had already been forced to cancel Wednesday’s Wild Wednesday program and Movie in the Park because of extreme heat and poor air quality. Now, with an unfavorable forecast for the weekend, organizers have made the difficult decision to cancel Celebrate Medway Day as well.
Officials said they are disappointed after months of planning but emphasized that the safety of attendees, vendors, volunteers, and staff must come first. There are currently no plans to reschedule the event.
