HOPKINTON – Portions of Lake Maspenock will undergo an herbicide treatment on Tuesday as part of an effort to control nuisance aquatic vegetation.

The treatment will focus on sections of the north basin, the cove near the boat ramp, and waters south of Sandy Beach. As a result, swimming, boating, and fishing will be prohibited from June 16 through June 18.

Officials also say pets and other animals should not use lake water from Tuesday through Thursday, and residents should avoid using lake water to irrigate food crops until June 22.
