HOPKINTON – Recreational restrictions will be in place at Lake Maspenock beginning Tuesday as the town conducts an herbicide treatment to combat nuisance aquatic vegetation.
The treatment area includes portions of the north basin, the cove near the boat ramp, and waters south of Sandy Beach. Town officials say boating, fishing, and swimming will not be permitted from Tuesday through Thursday, and residents should not allow pets to drink from the lake during that period.
Officials also advise against using lake water to irrigate vegetables or other edible plants until after June 22nd.
