Raw Sewage Spill in Lake Quinsigamond Raises Health Concerns

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – There’s been a big spill of raw sewage into Lake Quinsigamond. The City of Worcester says on February 20 about 193,000 gallons from an underground pipe spilled into the street and then the lake. Officials are warning about possible elevated E. Coli levels in the lake. They have been testing daily but ice fishing on the lake is currently restricted. In 2022, a pump station failure dumped nearly six million gallons of sewage into the lake.
