ASHLAND – Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal drowning at Ashland State Park.
Emergency crews from Ashland and Hopkinton responded Wednesday afternoon after a man reportedly fell from a canoe into the water. Friends were able to bring him to shore before firefighters arrived.
Rescuers performed CPR continuously while transporting the man along the shoreline and through wooded terrain to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where he was later pronounced dead.
