MENDON/UPTON – The Mendon-Upton Regional School District has received nearly $222,000 in state funding to strengthen literacy education for its youngest students.
The funding comes through the Partnership for Reading Success-Massachusetts grant program and will support implementation of the Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum for students from pre-kindergarten through third grade.
The grant will help cover the cost of training educators and launching the new curriculum throughout the district.
District officials say the program is designed to strengthen early reading and writing instruction, providing students with a stronger literacy foundation during their first years in school.
