By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Herbicides have reportedly been OK’d by the Hopkinton Conservation Commission as one part of the battle against the increasing weed problem in Lake Maspenock. The Hopkinton Independent reports herbicides will be just one part of the strategy which also include drawdowns, benthic barriers, hand harvesting and mechanical harvesting. As for concerns about PFAS contamination, Heath Director Shaun McAuliffe, himself an environmental scientist, reportedly said PFAS have no bearing on the lake treatment.
