By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton Town Meeting voters have said yes to a Special Town Meeting article asking the Hopkinton Select Board to reinstate former Hopkinton Police Sergeant Tim Brennan. A citizen’s petition led to the article, with supporters calling it unfair that Brennan was fired for not reporting the sexual assault of a teenager several years ago by another cop after the victim asked him not to. The article passed overwhelmingly 220-99 but it is only advisory and not legally binding on the Select Board to take any action to reinstate him.
