By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton Town Meeting voters have approved spending $48.5 million on additions and renovations to Hopkins Elementary School. The Hopkinton Independent reports Town Meeting voters passed it by a vote of 242-102 which was just more than the required two-thirds majority. Next all town voters will weigh in on the funding at the Town Election on May 20. Officials say the average tax bill would rise up to about $429 a year during the payoff. Last fall voters approved a new Elmwood School, now called Charleswood.
