Hopedale has a new school resource officer. Sgt. Steve Mahan has been tapped for the job. Sgt Mahan is a 24-year veteran of Hopedale Police and has held many positions including Detective, Court Officer, Sexual Assault Investigator, and Field Training Supervisor. He is also already very involved with youth as a high school football official, and coach of the girls’ lacrosse team at Medway High School. He also works with the department’s comfort dog, who may be with him sometimes on his rounds at the schools.
