HOPKINTON – The demolition of two additions at Hopkinton’s Center School is scheduled to begin November 2nd, marking the first phase of a project to restore the historic school.
The project calls for the demolition of the building’s 1950 and 1980 additions to prepare for restoration of the original 1928 school building. Following a competitive bidding process, the Town awarded the $1.4 million demolition contract to American Environmental of Holyoke. Officials say that price is about 30 percent below budget.
