FRANKLIN – Washington Street School has received the Heart of Gold Certificate from the American Heart Association after raising more than $22,000 through the AHA Kids Heart Challenge.
The school-based program teaches elementary students about heart-healthy habits and lifesaving skills while raising money for children with heart conditions. The American Heart Association says Washington Street School had the sixth-highest fundraising total among participating Massachusetts schools.
