MARLBOROUGH – Boston Scientific has confirmed that a cyberattack disrupted operations at the Marlborough-based medical device manufacturer this week.
The company said in a statement Wednesday that the attack occurred Tuesday and affected certain information technology systems, resulting in a network outage and disruptions to company operations.
The incident has impacted Boston Scientific’s ability to process and ship customer orders.
The company says an investigation into the cyberattack remains underway. As of Thursday, Boston Scientific had not provided a timeline for when all affected operations would be fully restored.
