WESTBOROUGH – Police say they prevented a potential “street takeover” earlier this month and removed a dangerous weapon from the streets. Officers responded to a gathering of about 20 vehicles in a secluded lot off Research Drive on April 12, where cars scattered upon police arrival.
During the incident, one vehicle nearly struck a police cruiser, and officers arrested an 18-year-old allegedly in possession of a loaded, untraceable “ghost gun” and a ski mask. Authorities note an increase in similar takeover events across multiple communities.
