NORFOLK COUNTY – Residents may notice low-flying helicopters over wetlands in the coming days as part of mosquito control efforts. The Norfolk County Mosquito Control District is conducting aerial applications over the next 10 days, weather permitting.
Officials say the helicopters are dropping “granular Bti,” a naturally occurring bacterium that targets mosquito larvae, and emphasize that this is not the same as truck-based spraying for adult mosquitoes.
