Post 397 180 Rolls Past Cherry Valley Post 443, 13-2

Shrewsbury — Post 397 180 broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning and cruised to a 13-2 victory over Cherry Valley Post 443 in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

Post 397 180 collected 13 hits and scored in four different innings, building a 13-0 lead before Cherry Valley got on the board with two runs in the sixth.

Connor Mudd led the offensive attack, finishing 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Tommy Kursonis added a pair of hits and drove in a run, while Drew O’Connell went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Owen Michalowski also had a two-hit night and knocked in a pair of runs.

Jackson Lucarelli, Finn McDonough and Cam Kelly each contributed to the balanced attack as Post 397 180 piled up 11 RBIs on 13 hits.

On the mound, Jake Brodeur earned the win, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out four. Frank Davis worked the final inning in relief.

Cherry Valley Post 443 managed seven hits in the loss. Jeffrey Guzman and Braden Beando each had two hits, with Beando driving in a run. Raymond Romero added an RBI, while Andrew Lancette contributed a pair of hits.

Cherry Valley pitchers Nolan Remington and Josh Hemingway combined to strike out three, but Post 397 180 capitalized on its opportunities and took advantage of seven Cherry Valley errors.

The decisive frame came in the fourth inning, when Post 397 180 erupted for six runs to turn a 1-0 lead into a comfortable advantage. The visitors added six more runs over the fifth and sixth innings to put the game out of reach.
