HOPKINTON – A group of local volunteers recently put their artistic talents to work to help enhance one of Hopkinton’s most beloved annual traditions.
Volunteers from the Hopkinton Center for the Arts spent the weekend creating a vibrant new starting line design for the upcoming Sharon Timlin Memorial 5K. Brianna Mangano, Holly Lafave, Megann Filios, and race organizer Stephanie Whelan dedicated their Saturday and Sunday mornings to bringing the project to life.

Mangano and Lafave collaborated on the logo design, transforming an idea into a colorful and welcoming landmark that will greet participants and spectators on race day.
Organizers say the project is a great example of community-powered art and the spirit of volunteerism that helps make Hopkinton special.
The Sharon Timlin Memorial 5K, known as “A Race to Cure ALS,” will take place on Saturday, June 13th, beginning at 8:30 AM at the Hopkinton High School. The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and raises funds for The Angel Fund for ALS Research, which supports ALS research at UMass Chan Medical School.
In addition to the USATF-certified 5K, the event includes Family Fun Day activities and a Kids’ Color Run, making it a celebration for the entire community.
