WHITINSVILLE – Just one day before celebrating its first anniversary, Meraki Nail Studio’s Uxbridge location was forced to close after a roof unexpectedly collapsed into the building.

Owner Quinn Phan was inside the salon when the collapse happened and said the building was immediately deemed unsafe. Rather than worrying about the building itself, her first concern was for her employees and the clients who had appointments scheduled in the days ahead.
With no access to the salon, Meraki turned to the community for help by sharing its story on social media. The response was overwhelming. Local businesses, fellow salon owners, clients, and residents offered temporary workspace, words of encouragement, and financial support through a GoFundMe campaign, which raised about $5,500. The funds helped provide financial assistance to employees and contributed toward securing a new location.
The rebuilding process also received a boost from a local realtor, who helped the business find its current home at 670 Linwood Avenue in Whitinsville. Today, Meraki Nail Studio has successfully reopened and continues serving both longtime and new clients.
