DOUGLAS – Fourteen-year-old Ashton Crowley recently enjoyed a Red Sox game with his grandfather following his recovery from open-heart surgery earlier this year.
Ashton underwent surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital in March 2026. Three months later, the lifelong New England sports fan was able to carry out the game ball as part of the Dream Team, an experience that marked a memorable moment in his recovery.
Ashton is also an honor student who served as class president at his Douglas school. This fall, he began attending Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, following in his father’s footsteps.
The recent Red Sox game gave Ashton and his grandfather another opportunity to enjoy a favorite pastime together following his recovery.
