MARLBOROUGH – A Labor Day lemonade stand run by 14-year-old Joey Lively has raised more than $5,000 this year for the Autism Alliance of MetroWest.
Lively, who was diagnosed with autism at age 3, started the fundraiser four years ago as a way to give back to the organization. With support from the community, the annual lemonade stand has continued to grow, including a $1,000 donation from the Marlborough Police Department this year.
Over four years, Lively has raised nearly $10,000 for the Autism Alliance, a Massachusetts organization that provides support, programs and resources to individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorders.
Funds raised help the Autism Alliance expand programs and connect Massachusetts families with information, resources and a supportive community following an autism diagnosis.
