DOUGLAS – Douglas resident and local business owner Matthew McGoldrick is competing for the title of Super Dad, with the winner set to receive $25,000 and appear in a national television commercial provided by Ace Hardware.
McGoldrick, owner of McGoldrick Property Services, is a father of two. In his Super Dad profile, he described fatherhood as one of the highest honors in his life and said his family serves as an inspiration for his involvement in the community.
“My family means the world to me. Being a dad is the highest honor,” McGoldrick said. “I absolutely love the laughter, the conversations, the excitement, the bewilderment, & more from our kids. Love is the reward.”
If he wins the $25,000 prize, McGoldrick said he hopes to use part of the money to help his father purchase a new car and make a donation to the Douglas Youth Baseball & Softball League, where he serves as a head coach for his son’s T-ball team. He would also put money toward home projects, a family vacation, activities for his children and sponsoring a local event.
The competition also supports Children’s Miracle Network, helping provide care and improve the health of children across the country. Supporters can cast a free vote for McGoldrick each day, with additional voting available through donations supporting the organization.
