MENDON – A Mendon woman is getting closer to completing one of the biggest achievements in marathon running.
Jenene Vernon has already completed four of the six major world marathons needed to earn the coveted Six Star medal, running in Chicago, Tokyo, London and Boston.
On Sunday, September 27, Vernon will compete in the Berlin Marathon, followed by the New York Marathon in November. Vernon tells the Mendon Commons she runs in memory of her mother, who died from lung cancer, and she is currently raising money for the LUNGevity Foundation.
