METROWEST — The MetroWest YMCA is offering a variety of active and enrichment programs this fall, with classes designed for children, teens, adults and families with a wide range of interests.
Among the offerings is basketball, where participants can work on fundamentals, teamwork and confidence through games and drills.
For younger children, Zumba Kids is available for ages 5 to 11, combining easy-to-follow choreography with movement designed to build rhythm, coordination, confidence and self-expression.
Those looking for a different physical challenge can take part in Spartan Race Training, which uses obstacle-inspired activities to develop strength, agility and endurance.
The YMCA is also offering a Kid Chef Series for ages 6 to 9, giving children an opportunity to explore new foods and recipes while learning kitchen skills they can use at home.
Youth Boxing, available for ages 9 to 11, introduces participants to foundational boxing skills while working on strength, coordination and confidence.
Additional fitness options include strength training for youth, teens, adults and families, along with Powerful Girls & Powerful Women, a total-body strength program focused on building power, endurance and confidence.
The YMCA is also offering Cycle Power, which focuses on endurance, cardiovascular fitness and lower-body strength, with power tests used to help participants measure progress.
Another program, Weigh to Change, is a 10-week offering that combines nutrition guidance, personal training, small-group workouts, cooking demonstrations and ongoing support.
The fall lineup gives MetroWest YMCA members and community participants several different ways to stay active, learn new skills and try something new throughout the season.
