FRANKLIN, Mass. — The Hockomock Area YMCA is inviting young children to build their confidence, teamwork skills and school spirit through its new Y Cheer program.

The program will offer two age-specific options: Pre-K Cheer Basics for children ages 3 to 5 and Youth Cheer Basics for children ages 6 to 10.

Designed for beginners and children looking to develop their cheerleading skills, the programs will provide a supportive environment where participants can learn the fundamentals of cheer while building confidence and connecting with others.

Whether children are trying cheerleading for the first time or hoping to strengthen their teamwork and spirit, the YMCA aims to give them a welcoming place to get started.

Registration is available online or at the YMCA front desk. Families interested in signing up can visit the Hockomock Area YMCA at 67 Mechanic Street in Franklin for more information.

The new cheerleading offerings provide local families with another opportunity to get their children involved in an activity that promotes movement, cooperation and personal growth.
