MILFORD — Two Milford Public Schools educators are helping represent Team Massachusetts at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games this week in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Alexis Forgit and Paula LeBlanc traveled to Minnesota as part of the Massachusetts delegation competing in the national event, which brings together thousands of athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across the country. The Games, which run June 20-26, feature competitors from all 50 states participating in a variety of sports and events.

LeBlanc, who works at Brookside Elementary School, is serving as a bowling coach, while Forgit, who works in the Pre-Vocational Program at Milford High School, is coaching track and field athletes. They are just two of the 98 members of Team Massachusetts who traveled to Minneapolis to compete and represent the Commonwealth on the national stage.

The educators are spending the week supporting athletes as they compete in events ranging from athletics and swimming to bowling, soccer, volleyball, flag football, and golf. The Special Olympics USA Games are expected to welcome nearly 3,000 athletes and 1,500 coaches during the week-long competition.

Residents interested in following the action can watch coverage throughout the week on ESPN platforms, including ESPN+, with nearly 50 hours of live competition being streamed from Minneapolis. Additional highlights and special programming will also air on ESPN and ABC.

The MyFM community wishes Alexis, Paula, Team Massachusetts, and all of the athletes competing at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games the best of luck as competition continues throughout the week.
