WRENTHAM – Voters have overwhelmingly approved a debt exclusion to support construction of a new Roderick Elementary School.
Results released by the Town Clerk’s Office show residents voted 957 to 164 in favor of the project during Monday’s Special Election. The current Roderick School was built in 1968 and officials say it faces significant infrastructure challenges, including aging building systems and the presence of hazardous materials common in older construction.
The project is being pursued through the Massachusetts School Building Authority, which could reimburse up to half of the estimated $56 million cost. Additional information about the project is available through the Roderick School Building Project section of the district website.
