Uxbridge’s boys tennis team continued its strong start Monday afternoon with a 5-0 sweep of Quaboag, moving to 2-0 on the season. The Spartans controlled the match from the opening points and looked sharp across every spot in the lineup.
Matthew Miller set the tone at first singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Brady Droeske followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles, and Reed Dziekiewicz added another point with a 6-3, 6-1 result at third singles. Uxbridge also delivered in doubles, where Sebastian Bradwin and Brayden Mackin won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles and Vibhav Patel and Dylan Kelly closed out the sweep with a 7-5, 6-1 victory at second doubles.
Droeske’s performance against Cam Olivo was especially impressive, and the overall depth of the Spartans was on display throughout the afternoon. Uxbridge had already opened the season with a tight 3-2 win over Worcester South, so this shutout only adds to the early confidence the team is building.
Uxbridge will be tested again this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. against Millbury. The Woolies lost their opener to Bartlett in a close 3-2 match and will be looking to bounce back, which means the Spartans will need another clean performance if they want to stay unbeaten.
