MENDON-UPTON – The Mendon-Upton Regional School District is taking part in a new statewide effort to explore how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly in education.

District officials say Mendon-Upton has been selected as one of just 14 school districts across Massachusetts to participate in the Partnership for Educators Advancing AI Knowledge Cohort. The program focuses on what organizers describe as the thoughtful, responsible, and equitable use of artificial intelligence in schools.

According to the district, key priorities in the cohort will include maintaining academic integrity, increasing AI awareness among educators and students, and developing clear, consistent policies around the use of AI tools in the classroom.

Officials say participation in the cohort will help the district stay ahead of rapidly evolving technology while ensuring AI is used in ways that support learning, fairness, and ethical standards.
