Hillers Roll: Hopkinton Dominates Bellingham to Stay Unbeaten

Hopkinton’s girls basketball team remained perfect with a 60-32 victory over Bellingham, improving the Hillers to 6-0 and further cementing their place among early-season D1 contenders. The Hillers are averaging 56.83 points per game while allowing just 31 points on average, numbers that reflect efficient offense and stingy defense.

Hopkinton’s early-season highlight came in the Mary Korbey Invitational, where the Hillers beat Milford 41-33 for the tournament title, and Sofiah Wightman Kraus earned MVP honors after averaging 15.5 points over the event. In Tuesday’s win over Bellingham, the Hillers showcased balanced scoring and defensive pressure that kept the Blackhawks out of rhythm.

Hopkinton sits at No. 20 in the Boston Globe’s early girls power rankings and will test its rankings tomorrow at 6 p.m. against a Norton team that has struggled at 1-4 but recently notched its first win. If the Hillers maintain their offensive efficiency and defensive discipline, they should remain squarely in the D1 title conversation down the stretch.
