Hopedale’s girls basketball team showed resilience in a 55-30 win over AMSA, bouncing back from a quiet first half to outscore the Eagles 40-15 after the break and improve to 2-0 on the young season. The Blue Raiders managed just 15 points in the first half before a second-half surge fueled by balanced scoring and interior toughness.

Jenna Weeden led the way with 16 points and drained four 3-pointers, stretching defenses and opening driving lanes. Phoebe Carroll posted a game-changing double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, continuing a dominant start after a 19-point, 15-rebound outing in the season opener. Anna Fafard’s 20-point performance in that opener helped Hopedale to a 60-52 victory over Dedham last Saturday.

Hopedale’s depth and ability to flip the script after halftime will be tested Friday when the Blue Raiders host Blackstone Valley at 6:30 p.m. The Beavers bring offensive firepower and a tougher matchup profile, but Hopedale’s balanced attack and strong interior play give them a clear identity as they build toward the midseason slate.
