Kopin Corp. Selling Shares to Raise $41 Million for Tech Development

WESTBOROUGH – Westborough-based manufacturer Kopin Corp. is selling a few million shares in order to raise about $41 million to support new technology projects.

The Worcester Business Journal reports the company will issue more than 19 million shares to private investors. The funding will go toward development of color microLED technology as well as artificial intelligence initiatives.

Kopin specializes in optics technology for the defense industry. Among the reported investors is Ondas Holdings of Boston, a company that develops aerial and ground robots.
