The Spartans’ Field Hockey program has had tremendous success in the last four years, winning four straight D4 championships before moving up to D3 this season. The Spartans have an 86-3-2 record over the last four seasons, which makes it no surprise they started this season undefeated.

Uxbridge entered its matchup against Sutton last night with a 6-0 record and was No.1 in D3 field hockey. The Sutton Suzies were 4-1-1 and were a reigning D4 state semifinalist last season. This was a heavyweight matchup between the two, but it ended predictably. The Spartans jumped all over Sutton in the first, leading 4-0 after one, with Julianna Casucci, Kendall Gilmore, Brooklyn Kaferlein, and Amelia Blood all scoring.

The Spartans added on another goal in the third with Casucci scoring her second of the game to make it 5-0 at halftime. Uxbridge ended up making this an 8-0 blowout by the end of the match, which shows how great this team is top to bottom. This was yet another shutout for the Spartans in a perfect start to their inaugural season at the D3 level.
