CENTRAL MASS. — North Attleboro’s Maxx Zides captured the individual championship at the MIAA Division 1 Central Sectional golf tournament yesterday, finishing one under par with a round of 71.
Zides stood alone at the top of the leaderboard, becoming the only golfer in the Central Sectional field to finish under par. He delivered a strong performance throughout the round, recording birdies on three different holes to secure the individual title.
Zides’ victory highlighted a successful day for the North Attleboro golf program, as teammate Lincoln Frisoli also finished in the top 10 at the sectional tournament.
With Zides taking home the individual championship and Frisoli earning a top-10 finish, the Rocketeers had two golfers among the tournament’s leading performers.
Zides’ one-under-par 71 proved to be the benchmark of the day, separating him from the rest of the field and earning him the Division 1 Central Sectional individual golf crown.
