A Shrewsbury man has been killed in a shooting that led to a large shelter-in-place order while police searched for the shooter.  Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. says the man had just dropped off his 6-year-old son at school and was walking near Jordan Pond when he saw a man he thought was vandalizing a bridge with spray paint. He took the guy’s picture and called police and was apparently shot while on the line with a dispatcher. The suspect ran off but later surrendered. The DA has not released any names but says the suspect is known to police with prior arrests.
