HOPKINTON – The thermostat system at Golden Pond Assisted Living is expected to be back online today, about two weeks after the death of a resident who was found in a 99-degree room.
Hopkinton Health Director Sean McAuliffe told WCVB the heating system has been off since the incident while town officials investigate why the thermostats caused the HVAC system to send heat into rooms that did not need it. McAuliffe says one room was reading nearly 104 degrees. Golden Pond has said its HVAC system is professionally maintained.
