HOPKINTON – Golden Pond Assisted Living has been ordered to stop accepting new residents while state officials investigate compliance issues following the death of a resident last month. The resident was found in a room where the temperature was near 100 degrees after the facility’s HVAC system malfunctioned.

The Executive Office of Aging and Independence says Golden Pond can continue operating but cannot accept new residents until it addresses a list of problems involving the HVAC system, oxygen storage, food safety and staff training.
